And life moves on…

So after 2 weeks of being totally down, I could finally do a little work, not much.

The site I had been working on really wanted to go live by June 3 and we made that date! There is still much work to do on the site, but it was together enough for her to start telling people at the annual Summer Arts and Music Festival.

Go visit Seinensilk.com and see what I have been up too! (check out her gallery!)
This is Margriet at Summer Arts Fair:

As part of the moving from the town house to the land full time, it meant selling my 1971 VW bus. Well, selling is the wrong word, I practically gave this one away to another lover the VW bus world:

71 VW bus pulling away to a new life

It was a end to an era, sort of sad. I used to live in my bus, travel, go places …but once I got here, that life style seem to end for me. Even leaving the town house after 16 years was also an end… lots of new beginnings though, and no regrets.

I will miss the town garden though, it takes care of itself now, and I can’t really have that type of planting here. All we have going now is the veggie garden with a few poppies and a few plants in pots I brought out. The sun here is like a blast furnace lots of days, so lush we won’t ever be, especially with having to pump our own water.

everything needs to find a home

So this is where we are now.. made all the dead lines we had, and now we are unpacking, sorting, storing, and moving stuff from the shed to the house and back to the shed.. lots going to thrift store. Many things have been packed for many years, and we need to make room in the stoage shed for the stuff from town that we want to keep.

I have a feeling this type of thing will be on-going all summer, making this place really home. Getting some art up and textiles on the walls. We will get satellite TV soon and satellite internet by fall. I am still overwhelmed, not fully healed, and antsy to be done with it all, but hey living in paradise makes up for it.

Buck just outside our bathroom window. He had his whole crew with him that day..5 of ’em just laying around chewing their cuds. 🙂

And then the sun came back!

And things are starting to dry up a bit. The road is holding its own for now, but here are a couple of pictures, which really don’t do it justice:

The road is now only half that width, this was taken in the beginning of the storms.

Over the side into the creek a river of mud. This is still moving slowly.

In a brief break ( a few hours) of the rains last month, I boxed up my computer and brought it out to our house. Finally… no more trying to commute to town to work. The road being what it was last month was really the deciding factor. I needed to have access.

I am working on several of my sites right now,
and also a new Flickr account. This will be an ongoing project as I want to move many of the photos I have on my other sites to this account. [ related post ]

Tuesday I have appointments in Eureka, and so we will make the day of it there. It’s been a long time since we went up, and I know we won’t get all the way through our lists.

I have an appointment later in month for the ‘trigger thumb’ problems I am having. The right thumb really hurts in the night and morning. Must get it fixed. Mousing isn’t really good for it and neither is typing. Also have an appointment with and ENT guy because my tonsils and throat are just plain messed up.

Doing the Blockbuster online thing.. it’s ok, their site is very very slow on this dial up. But it’s the only way to get movies now. I hope to get satellite tv and internet this summer and maybe then I will cancel the BB thing.

Been trading a lot of live Bruce Cockburn shows at BC_Live lately. Finally being able to use the computer whenever I want has made that possible. If you are a Bruce fan, go check it out.

Leo Laporte’s Gone

Leo’s Gone 🙁

I’ve been so busy, I was missing many of the Call for Help and Screensavers shows. When I tuned in finally last week, I noticed a lot of repeats, and NO Leo. Sad. LeoVille.com.
I wish the best for Leo.

I will still watch, while they are on, Call For Help and SS, I really do like Patrick Norton and Kevin Rose and the whole gang at both shows.

Tech-Tv being bought by Comcast just adds to the stress, that all we know and love about TT may be lost.

My cable system just picked up Tech-Tv last year. I learn a lot from the shows and will really miss Leo. Call For Help will never be the same level of fun.

I like Patrick with Leo, I do like Kevin, but have to say that half the time I barely understand what he is talking about 🙂

Call For Help
Leo Laporte
The Screen Savers
and you can Google any of these guys and shows and find them still doing great techy stuff on the web.

Validation or not

Finally got this page to validate.
Still having a weird image not show problem when trying to use those tiny buttons (Steal These Buttons) seen everywhere, don’t know what’s up with that just yet.
And so far the css isn’t validated, (it was at one time, but changes have been made), it tells me to validate xhtml first! (ah..it is!)
Ok too hot to do any more,
I did update the side bar some and fixed some other little things.
More later.

Too busy to post

I have a bunch of photos from the Harley Run – rumble rumble is still going on.
I have pictures of the bee holes at the land.
I am coordinating tons of reviews/setlists/ and photos to put up a new front page at the CockburnProject, where i am an editor and the webmaster. Until that is done, i won’t have much time for MT or other things.
