9th Anniversary

It’s been so long since I posted.. don’t know where to begin!
Guess I will go backwards, as it is freshest in my mind 🙂

Bobbi and Russel Wisby 2004

We had our 9th wedding anniversary on July 27, we have been together 13+ years though. Nice dinner at local Mateel Cafe with Russel’s sister Carol who is visiting from South Carolina.

The day (Monday 26) before our anniversary, part of my front tooth broke off! Yikes.. it was easier to deal with (fill) than I thought it would be. Helps if you just don’t leave the dentist office until it’s fixed *lol*. The 28th I had a dental cleaning..oh joy..2 mornings spent in the dentist office.

Meanwhile, we are trying to entertain Carol, which mostly amounts to eating out, and it’s been 100 degrees here for a least a couple of weeks.

We are still working hard at the house, and believe it or not, I am still painting! Down to 1 room, the living area, I am working on the catherdral ceiling with a light yellow paint. Threw my back/hip/sciatic out on Saturday, was down with that for a few days.

Managed to finally have a visit with friend Pam too.

The week before this we went to Eureka to pick up out Toyota truck which had been in the shop for 1 week getting a new engine (we got to drive a new 2004 Jeep suv..pretty nice ride). We actually took it to the bay for yet again another VA appointment for Russel who finally got a broncostmy… which still shows nothing to point to all the pain/congestion and need for steroid inhalers to hold that at bay. I will talk more about that trip another time..just too much to say.

I have more but gotta go help Russel with the upcoming Reggae on the River Aikido Burrito booth scheduling fiasco…more about that later too.

And you run .. Time

….and you run to catch up with the sun buts it’s sinking….
Remember that Pink Floyd song? Time. Oh so true it is.

Any way, I have my gallery almost ready from prime time. I need to upload more shots and make the galleries, and I don’t know when I will have the TIME to do that.

A few posts back (here) I was talking about one of my favorite hang outs that was crumbling away [that was CyberCrew]… well it’s impossible to keep a good forum down, so what has happened is a new great forum has had the opportunity to Rise Up! Check out the Digital Asylum. [this one is gone now too] I am very happy about this, I had missed the old ‘other to be nameless’ forum and this one is much better.

We are working at lot out at the house, lots of movement this year. Got 3 scrappy old oaks down that helps with the light and firewood, I am painting the kitchen area of the house now. A light yellow/green on the lid, a pale green on one wall and a bright yellow on the other, with an accent wall I hope to be deep hibscus red, we’ll see if I can find the paint.

Going to Eureka all day tomorrow, mostly for errands, maybe we will see a movie. We have to put a new engine in the truck, this is gonna make us really tighten our belts so to speak for awhile.

Ok, for those who managed to read through most of that drivel,
here’s a treat, Agave.

I am waiting for it to be in full flower, wasn’t there yet today.
The site this gallery is sitting in needs a major overhaul, and that is next on my tech list of things I want to do for myself.

Time (Mason, Waters, Wright, Gilmour) 7:06

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I’d something more to say.

Dragonfly

I still have my head in Gallery, won’t have anything to show for some time.

While working, a dragonfly perched on my neighbors antenna. This is something they do often, I have tried to get good shots before, with no luck. Today was different! I actually got 20 or more great shots!

I am quite pleased with myself 😉 This camera is a year old, it’s about time I took a decent shot. Once my Gallery is open, there will be an album of these keepers. I have one where he/she? is looking at me!

Other news, just work at the house, on the land, keeping the town house yard sort of up. Russel is leaving for Aikido retreat for a week in the bay on Sunday..so, you guessed it… I will be working online a lot. No meal times, bed times…. just my time 😉

Growing & Changing

I just made a whole long post with pictures and all… and lost it 🙁

This will be the quick and dirty style: – still learning the new system, printer, scanner tons of software, learning new work flows, ps7, and so much more:

computer set up

On another note, Frank Doran Sensei, Russel’s Aikido teacher from the bay area was here for an Aikido retreat.

The potluck was held at a truly beautiful home, this is a shot of the stairway leading to the house:

Dazey's Bridge

And in case you were wondering, the Agave , is starting to open up:

I need to take some pictures again soon, more is happening. I noticed today when we drove by after coming down from Eureka. We saw “The Day Before Tomorrow”. Great special effects, ok story, not as sappy as it could of been and not as good as it should of been. The premise being greenhouse gases/ the Green house effect/ global warming / melting of polar ice caps/ super storms/ …all caused by ….. yep burning of fossil fuels, which they didn’t mention. Too bad. I read a book a few years ago about these storms, it doesn’t seem that unlikely to me. The way the weather has changed in just my 50 years is astonishing.

I also spent over a week at the land house without coming into town at all.
Testing the waters, seeing what I would need to make it really livable, if there was no town tiny house rental.

Yep, this is a long entry.
On a more personal note here, over the last month or so, I have seen bloggers disappears.. for some reason it tweaks me.

Then Movable Type did it’s new pay-for model and the forums over there really changed. A lot of long-time power users bailed. Some seem to have just gone away.

As I mentioned in this post,Tech Tv is gone. Call For Help is gone. Screensavers has become a gamers only show it seems. I learned a lot from these shows and miss them, especially Leo Laporte.

Now my favorite forum is blowing up it seems. This really bums me out. Some of my most favorite people are leaving. Even though I know these are just online ‘acquaintances’ – I have become attached.
So I guess the lesson here is letting go, growing with change, moving on.

But who will be there to help me on this road of web?
I would never be where I am today without this forum.

Yea! to the one that came back, she knows who she is!!
